New Guidelines Effective October 1, 2008
 
Fibers (Paper Items)
Newspaper
Please place in bin or in brown paper bag alongside bin. Glossy inserts are okay.
 
Junk Mail and Office Paper
All sorts of paper including: junk mail, envelopes, office paper of all colors, shredded paper, notebook paper, sticky notes, paperback books and more. Place with newspapers or in brown paper bag.
 
Cardboard and Pizza Boxes
Please cut or flatten no larger than 3' x 2' x 1'. Pizza boxes can be loose - please remove food-soaked liners.
 
Magazines and Catalogs
No need to bundle. Magazines and catalogs can be loose in bin or in a brown paper bag.
 
Boxboard
Boxboard from dry food and ceral boxes, shoe boxes and other similar packaging. No plastic or waxy-coated (ie frozen food boxes) please. Flatten and stuff into larger box or brown paper bag.
 
Phone Books
All types accepted.
 
Containers (Bottles and Cans)
 
Plastic Bottles
All numbers (#1-7) of plastic bottles are now accepted. Caps and labels can be left on.
 
Bulky #2 Plastic
Includes items such as toys, barrels, buckets, and crates. Must be small enough to fit into the truck.
 
Glass Bottles and Jars
All colors of glass food and beverage bottles and jars are accepted. Lids and labels may be left on. Please no window glass, light bulbs, mirrors or other non-food containers.
 
Metals
Includes tin/steel cans, aluminum foil and trays, and metal beverage containers. Labels may be left on. Small household scrap metal is also acceptable.
 
Plastic Bags
Plastic bags from grocery and retail stores. Contained inside a plastic bag which is tied.
 
Drink Boxes (Aseptic containers)
Plastic-coated paper beverage cartons, including milk and juice cartons.
